I was having dinner with Katie and Jamie last week (good times!) and Jamie made a statement that non-Christians don’t hate Christians because they are hypocrites; rather they hate Christians because they pretend that they aren’t.
Isn’t that the unfortunate truth too often?

This should be a pointed reminder that we need to be real about our shortcomings and failures and be approachable to everyone. No one’s going to be drawn to our perfectionism.

Exactly.
I was just having a conversation the other day with a friend and we were talking about the need to offer information about our shortcomings, struggles, and failures. Too often people don’t or they wait until someone asks them. I tend to be very open but that can lead into being too open, so there has to be a balance. I’d rather error, though, on sharing too much about shortcomings and failures, because come on, who are any of us kidding?
I want to be real and authentic.
